Dual Immersion

EIMS will be offering a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program beginning in the 2024-2025 school year.

“As a district, we are proud to introduce East Iredell Middle School’s new identity as a Dual Immersion and World Language Academy,” stated Superintendent Jeff James. “This initiative underscores our dedication to fostering cultural awareness, language proficiency, and academic excellence among our students. With the addition of the dual immersion program and comprehensive world language curriculum, students at East Iredell Middle School will not only become fluent in a second language but will also gain valuable skills and cultural understanding that will set them apart in today’s interconnected world.”

“I am thrilled to be able to offer students at East Iredell Middle School these options,” explained Principal Lisa Brooks. “Being able to implement a World Language Academy, and the option of Dual Immersion at the school will provide our students with skills that will give them an advantage in navigating their future!”

Students at East Iredell Middle School will experience more opportunities than ever before. 
1. Dual Immersion Program: This program offers students the opportunity to become bilingual through immersive instruction in both English and Spanish.
2. Comprehensive World Language Courses: Students will continue to gain knowledge and proficiency as they take a language course each year. 
3. Advanced Studies: As students enter our campuses on different proficiency levels, our differentiated instruction will allow each student to experience a rigorous curriculum to think critically, solve problems creatively, and excel in their studies. 
4. High School Credits: Students will have the opportunity to earn up to 5 high school credits while still in middle school. By taking these advanced courses, students can accelerate their academic journey and get a head start on their high school education.
